Spirituality Simplified

I am intrigued by Spirituality. A lot, in fact. To me its not an abstract and intangible concept. Its absolutely tangible.

My spiritual quest - the quest to know who I am - has been active since I was a kid. Not that I realized it in as many words, but as I sit back and think about my activities then, I realize that it was pretty much an exciting subject for me. Its only grown in proportion today.

That doesn't mean I am a pious man. I have my vices, but I am satisfied that I am on the path to improvement. In my current circumstances that's the most I can do or am willing to do. A lot of people around me though have a much higher expectation of me than they should. I guess its normal for people to assume that a spiritual person has no vices.

My interest leads me to indulge in a lot of discussion with various like minded people on this subject. They might be subscribers to certain schools of thought not similar to my views, but the quest is same. Its encouraging to meet such people. A lot of people who seem to be running behind some or the other religious practice are also on a spiritual quest.

In my discussions, I have come across highly varied understandings on some key matters related to spirituality. This expression of difference has led me to write down my understanding on various issues.

The old language has transformed over a period of time with many words connoting different meanings. Therefore, since most of the traditional text and language has lead many to umpteen number of misunderstandings, I have decided to write my thoughts in simple and current language.

Its my hope that this effort will help me clear my own concepts on spiritual matters and may be even create an opportunity for serious and focused discussion with many of you.
